I am Crazy for Cranberry! Jewelry that is. Cranberry is the official color of the National Fibromyalgia Association or the N.F.A. for short. Fibromyalgia is a seriously debilitating chronic pain disease. I was diagnosed at 29 with this disease. (Please see What Living with Fibromyalgia is Like for more in depth info) There is no cure nor even a known cause. So I am donating 50% of all sales in the Crazy for Cranberry Line to the N.F.A. please help us spread awareness and search for a cure because while fibromyalgia is not a terminal disease, ask anyone who has it if they ever wish it was.

So I have to share an experience I had with Fabric.com last night. I had slipped up on a current project(never sew when your tired!) and needed replacement fabric. So as always I checked them first, found the fabric i needed and order a couple of other items as well. I placed my order around 1am, and had to update my address since I hadn’t ordered anything since the move. I paid through pay pal and when I came back to the receipt page I freaked! The order had my old address on it! So I quickly dropped an email to customer support and explained the situation. This morning I woke up to a email from Fabric.com customer support, they were able to change the address in time and my order ships out today.
I have always had good experience shopping with Fabric.com but today they really just impressed me to no end. I have dealt with a lot of distributors/retailers and they are the only ones that customer service not an auto responder contacted me and fixed the problem within 10 hours of my email. 5 Stars all the way for Fabric.com

Hi all sorry haven’t been writing much but I have been trying to plan my own wedding as well as design and create my dress and my bridesmaid dresses, the good news is I will be taking pictures of my creations and posting them on here along with step by step instructions for the centerpieces and guest book. First I will say we are doing our wedding on a very limited budget so saving is a must, not that I mind because there is nothing like finding a great deal! So to start with I got the invitations on clearence at JoAnn Fabric for $7.50 a box (normally $24.99). The box contained 50 invitations & envelopes plus 50 RSVP cards & envelopes. I bought two boxes as our guest list was around 80. The invites are not fancy but were simple and elegant. One hundred count for $14.50. Then I found a beautiful two hearts cake top also on clearence at JoAnn Fabric for $5.00 normally $24.99.

Ok so as of late I have spent quite a lot of my time teaching a fellow craftsman the ropes, of internet based selling so I thought I would share some of my knowledge with all of you.
First thing I would like to share if your thinking of picking up jewelry making to turn it into a business DON’T. I make jewelry because I love it, though I must say I lost may way for a while, lost in the complicated business/website matters that complicate simple things. Jewelry is not a lucrative field, it is next to impossible to get slots at fairs/shows and even the crafter’s malls fill up fast. The reason why is there are for more jewelry makers then their is space for them. Stringing, beading, wire work so on and so forth it doesn’t matter what type you make the odds of getting in are slim and the only way is if you are a first caller. I know my jewelry is different then what is being sold yet all of us are lumped in this category and space to sell is limited.
Now I want to say I truly enjoy making jewelry I did not start making it to sell it and honestly have done rather a poor job at even trying to sell it as of late. I have far more creations then I have posted for me it is the time involved in setting up and photographing every single piece that slows me up, that and I come from a long line of procrastinators.
Now there is several reasons as to why jewelry is not a hot sell right now, one our economy is poor and jewelry is a want item not a need so therefore more people will pass on the jewelry then buy it, two jewelry makers are literally a dime a dozen, and three wholesaler’s who sell cheap crap made in china can sell for far less then we can. However remember that products bought from china are not only inferior quality but have toxic metal alloys in them as well. Please note this also includes many jewelry items bought at regular retailers.
I want to say something that has been weighing heavily on my mind as of late. When I say Local I mean made in the USA!!
We all know our economy is tanking badly we all want someone to blame, and while the president past or present is an easy target, it truly is more cooperate America’s fault.
In the United States very little is manufactured and sold here, most major companies have farmed out to other countries (primarily china) where they use cheap labor and cheaper materials thereby maximizing their profit. This is not new to anyone I know, but what the companies neglected to think of in their greed, is when the people who buy their products do not have job’s then there is no money to buy the products with.
So here is a challenge that I personally have decided to follow. On anything I can buy made in the USA I will, I will no longer support companies that have farmed out our job’s and make inferior products. I will buy from small businesses, companies, and people who make items here in the USA who deserve my business, and my loyalty not because I know them all personally but because they are Americans who like me and you have been hit hard by our failing economy, who do their best every day to feed their families and keep their homes while cooperate America gets richer because of our suffering.
Please Support Locally Made Items it may cost a couple of dollars more but it will keep one more family off the streets.
